Commercial Projects
Our commercial work consists of designing market-rate office buildings that recognize the economic realities of the owner’s budget and schedule, and that add value to the occupants’ experience of its spaces. Working collaboratively with the owner and consultant team, we strive to incorporate efficient construction techniques into an architectural design that recognizes the unique characteristics of the site.
Recent projects of Evans Heintges Architects consist of new and renovated office buildings in the Northeast, including the architectural design of Biogen-Idec Headquarters in Weston, Massachusetts, which has attained a LEED Platinum rating. Our suburban projects endeavor to create special places in the open landscape — both externally, by defining clear entrance sequences and screening parking areas with extensive landscaping; and internally, by utilizing sky-lighted atriums, wherever possible, to define social spaces for the building’s occupants. In Washington, DC, several recent urban projects, such as Capital Gallery and Wisconsin Place, take advantage of their locations adjacent to Metro entrances to create plazas and interior streets for public use.
